Welcome to the Fountain County Office of Voter Registration website. Here are some suggestions to make it as easy as possible for you to participate in the election process:
REQUIREMENTS TO VOTE
- You are a Citizen of the United States;
- You will be 18 years of age by the time of the next general election;
- You will have been a resident of your precinct for 30 days before the election
- You are not currently in prison after being convicted of a crime.
As of July 1st, 2001, anyone wishing to vote MUST give their 10 digit Indiana Driver's License number or a state issued ID number. If you do not have an Indiana Driver's License, you may give the last four digits of your social security number.
DEADLINES & IMPORTANT DATES
May 21, 2019 - Voter Registration OpensMay 21, 2019 - DEADLINE - by noon, for a candidate to file a verified recount or contest petition.June 30, 2019 - DEADLINE - by noon, for the Democratic or Republican Party to fill a vacancy on the general election ballot due to primary election ballot vacancy. July 1, 2019 - DEADLINE- by noon for an Independent or Minor Party candidate to file Petition of Nomination
May 21, 2019 - Voter Registration Opens
May 21, 2019 - DEADLINE - by noon, for a candidate to file a verified recount or contest petition.
June 30, 2019 - DEADLINE - by noon, for the Democratic or Republican Party to fill a vacancy on the general election ballot
due to primary election ballot vacancy.
July 3, 2019 - DEADLINE - by noon to file a declaration of intent to be a write-in candidate.
July 15, 2019 - DEADLINE - by noon, for ANY candidate to voluntarily withdraw from municipal election ballot.
August 1, 2019 - DEADLINE - by noon, to file a declaration or withdraw a declaration of candidacy by a town convention.
City of Attica and City of Covington Candidates need to file: CAN-12 and CAN-42. Filing DEADLINE is FEBRUARY 8th at Noon.
Towns of Hillsboro, Kingman, Veedersburg, Newtown, Mellott and Wallace Candidates need to file: CAN-12 and CAN-16. Filing DEADLINE is AUGUST 1st at Noon.
Independent Candidates need to file: CAN-12, CAN-44, and CAN-45. Filing DEADLINE is JULY 1st at Noon.
Any elected position that earns $5,000.00 or more annually, will also need to file the CFA-1 report and do the CFA-4 Finance forms per the finance schedule.
